Strong plastic smell This bar has a very strong smell (least to me) – sort of the smell of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Not sure if that is what this bar is made of, but it does smell like plastic and it makes your hands smell like plastic. Hopefully the smell will diminish over time. I like using this and think the exercises will help with my hands and wrists. It’s got some heft to it, almost like a rubber bludgeon.
