The product comes in “demo mode”. You have to press the blue button on the console for 30 seconds in order to get to the main screen. This is not in the manual and I had to research this for a few hours to discover. Once pushed the machine functions as described without having to sign up for any online access or app.

To activate the console, you must sign up for a $15/month debit from your credit card The machine runs fine, but unless you activate iFit and agree to have $15/month charged to your credit card, the console does not work. This means you cannot adjust the tension, use the time and distance functions, or the heart rate features of the machine. Amazon needs to include this in the information section of the site.
